Rooted in Niger State, and growing.
URII currently partners with communities across Rijau LGA, Niger State, Nigeria, with new partnerships forming as communities reach out to us.
What a genuine partnership looks like.
We don't arrive with a finished plan. Every partnership starts with listening, and every tool we help build, an alphabet, a dictionary, a school programme, belongs to the community long after our part is done.
Invited, not imposed
We begin work only where a community has invited us in, and local leaders and elders shape every decision from day one.
Ownership stays local
Every orthography, dictionary, and programme is owned and stewarded by the community itself, not by URII.
Long-term presence
Language and trust take years to build. We commit to communities for the length of the work, not a single project cycle.
